About Drew
I'm a web designer from Bordon, Hampshire. After completing my GCSEs, I studied physics, maths, media, and computing at South Downs College.
Outside of education, I became involved with the Bordon Youth Umbrella Group, where I helped set up a free wireless internet service for the town. I was also a deputy member of Youth Parliament, and have an interest in politics.
I have a keen interest in developing technologies, and dedicate most of my blog posts to new releases.
As a web designer
I began web design as a hobby during my GCSEs, and made it my full time profession on leaving college. Since then, I have also branched out into software solutions, and began investigating the applications of social media.
During my first few months, I discovered how hard it can be for a web designer to learn the basics of the trade and develop professional, high quality sites without spending hours writing code that so many other people will have already developed and tested. As such, I set out to create the Omicron Framework, a set of tools designed to make building the base of any good site quick and easy.
The framework allows developers to build pre-tested code into their site, and utilise powerful functions without the need to spend time coding from scratch. From this basis, I also began developing myOmicron, a framework-wide credentials system that any developer can include in their site, allowing users to log in with their myOmicron details. Again, I strove to make this simple and easy, with a simple myOmicron toolset being built right into the Omicron Framework.
